Janus Capital International, the international arm of the New York-listed investment firm Janus Capital Group, has named Matthew Nagele as head of the UK for the group’s European business.

In his new London-based role, Nagele will be responsible for driving the growth of the firm’s UK and European institutional, wholesale and retail business lines, working closely with Nigel Austin, Janus’ chief operating officer for the UK and EMEA. Nagele will report directly to Augustus Cheh, Janus Capital International’s chief executive.

Nagele was latter managing director, distribution at Castle Trust, having previously held the same role at Old Mutual Asset Managers.

As at end-June, Janus Capital Group manages $152.4 billion in assets. Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, the firm has offices in Milan, Munich, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Melbourne, Paris, The Hague, Zurich and Frankfurt, in addition to London.
