Janney Makes Senior Hire To Boost Growth In Connecticut

Philadelphia, PA-based Janney Montgomery Scott is reinforcing its business in Connecticut, appointing George Keith as senior vice president/complex manager in Darien.

Reporting to regional manager Christopher Wilkinson, Keith will also oversee the firm's three other bases in Connecticut, located in Fairfield, Glastonbury and West Hartford.

Prior to joining Janney, Keith served as president and chief operating officer at a Connecticut-based investment firm. He started his career at Paine Webber in 1980 as resident manager of the Hartford, CT, office. He went on to assume the same role at the firm's New York City branch and has also held senior posts at AllianceBernstein, ScudderKemper, Dreman Value and Fidelity.

In other developments, at the start of the month Janney appointed Andrew Kistler as senior vice president and regional manager for the Southeast, while also taking on the Great South Advisory group, operating from its Columbia and Hilton Head branches in South Carolina. In the previous week, Peter Hecht joined as first vice president of wealth management at its Mount Laurel, NJ, office. Hecht brought with him $100 million in assets and joined the firm with Steven Ries, account executive.

Janney Montgomery Scott is an independently-operated subsidiary of The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company and a New York Stock Exchange member firm.
