J Stern & Co Opens Frankfurt Office

The investment firm, with its strong European ties that go back more than two centuries, is returning to Frankfurt.
J Stern &
Co, an investment partnership, has returned to Frankfurt with
a new office, 220 years after the S H Stern merchant bank was
founded.
The firm, headquartered in London, also has offices in New York,
Zurich and Malta.
Andreas Krebs (pictured) has been named head of Germany, formerly
with Mandarine Gestion, where he was managing director in Paris
and Frankfurt, and a partner. Prior to this, he worked at
Dresdner Asset Management and Commerzbank Asset Management,
working in Frankfurt and Dublin. In total, he has more than 25
years’ experience in sales, client relationship management and
marketing to institutional investors.
Krebs sits on the board of charities and foundations in
Frankfurt, including the Bürgerverein Demokratieort Paulskirche
e.V.
“In Frankfurt there are still many memories of our family
history, like the Theodor Stern Foundation at the Johann Wolfgang
Goethe University, or the Theodor Stern Kai on the banks of the
River Main,” Jérôme Stern, managing partner, said.
“As an independent asset management partnership with a long-term
investment horizon, we want to become a trusted partner for
German investors and sustainably build our German distribution
and client management team. We see significant potential in
Germany, working on behalf of long-term investors in complete
alignment with our partners and my family,” Stern said.
J Stern & Co manages more than €2.1 billion ($2.5 billion) on
behalf of institutions, foundations, families and other long-term
investors, through a focused range of specialist investment
strategies.
