Italian Law Firm Opens Doors To HNWIs In The UK

An Italian law firm, which specialises in tax, wealth management and asset protection, has established a presence in London.

Loconte & Partners has opened an office in London to provide wealth management services and assist in operations between the UK and Italy.

Founded in 1996, Loconte already has offices in Milan, Rome, Bari and Padua. Its wealth management team comprises 20 advisors. They provide legal and tax-related services on national, international and cross-border issues.

The firm identified last month's Brexit vote as a driver for the growth of its UK business, explaining that companies and individuals who have already invested in the UK will need to evaluate the fiscal and legal consequences of the referendum.

“The exit of the UK from the European Union could stimulate new business opportunities: as EU laws on bail-in will not be applicable in the UK, the British banking system will be increasingly appealing for private clients,” said Stefano Loconte, founding managing partner of Loconte & Partners.

Senior associate Angela Cordasco, who has been with the firm since 2014, has been appointed office managing partner and will drive the development of the firm’s UK business. Cordasco advises mainly on international tax law and tax litigation matters.

Loconte & Partners employs 50 lawyers and tax advisors, five of whom are partners.
