Investec Trust has named Philippe Gex as head of investment services, a Geneva-based role in which he provides strategic input on portfolio performance evaluation techniques, investment manager selection and fiduciary investment consulting services.

Gex will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key financial intermediaries, the firm said in a statement.

Gex has been with Investec Trust since 2004, when he joined as investment officer for the Swiss trust office assisting the business in asset manager/bank selection for trust structure portfolios.

In another recent Geneva-based appointment, July saw Natacha Onawelho-Loren installed as head of legal. As the firm’s internal legal guru, she provides guidance to Investec Trust on all features of its trust business in its offices across Switzerland, Jersey, Mauritius and South Africa. It is also in her remit to be involved in developing business opportunities in Russia and Eastern Europe.
