Investec Trust Switzerland, part of the South Africa and UK-based Investec Group, has appointed Elliot Goodman as senior trust manager, as well as team head.

Mr Goodman joined the firm from an independent trust company in Geneva, where he was a director and in-house lawyer responsible for a client portfolio.

Prior to moving to Geneva in 2005, Mr Goodman was in private practice and acted for high net worth individuals.

Mr Goodman is experienced in the legal and practical considerations applicable to complex estate and tax planning structures, Investec Trust said in a statement.

“He [Mr Goodman] has an excellent understanding of the creation and management of bespoke structures for international clients. We have every confidence that with his skills set Elliot will be an excellent fit with our culture and values and will add to the existing strengths of our team in Switzerland,” said Paul Douglas, managing director of Investec Trust Switzerland.

In October last year, Investec Trust Switzerland appointed Paul Douglas as its new managing director.
