Investec Joins Commodity Trend With Another Fund

Enthusiasm for commodities shows no sign of abating as Investec Asset Management becomes the latest firm to launch a fund linked to this market. The investment manager, part of South African-based bank Investec, has rolled out the Investec Enhanced Natural Resources Fund, a commodity and resource equity fund. The new fund has a total return objective and aims to deliver its long-term investment goals through fundamental analysis of underlying commodity securities and stock-picking approach. Domiciled in the UK, it can access a universe of over 30 commodities and 800 resource stocks including companies involved in energy, metals and mining and agriculture. The fund also has powers, enabled under European Union UCITS III laws, to let it take long and short positions through the use of derivatives.
