Intertrust Hires Global Business Lead To Grow Private Wealth Business

The group has been acquiring technical efficiencies to boost its private client services; and has hired a wealth management veteran from IQ-EQ in a new business development role to lead global growth.

Dutch-based fiduciary services provider Intertrust has appointed Francis Parisis as global head of business development for its private wealth services. He began in the newly-created role late last week and will be based in Luxembourg.

The 20-year wealth management veteran moves from IQ-EQ, where he worked across fund and private wealth in hedge, private equity and real estate services. Parisis' multinational career has also seen him in senior roles at Citco.

The group said the move dovetails with client expectations of steering away from traditional trustee or family office services to a full-service approach capable of meeting the "fast-moving needs" of their global lifestyles.

Intertrust moved in a more technology-led direction after purchasing US fund administrator Viteos for a reported $330 million last year. The aquisition has helped it to incorporate artificial intelligence, blockchain and robotics automation, which will be integrated into future private wealth offerings, the group said.

Ian Lynch, chief commercial officer at Intertrust, said the firm's private wealth bsuiness was “intrinsic” to future growth. “We have great ambitions to develop our existing technology to serve the needs of these clients,” he said.

In January, before COVID-19 took hold globally, the Amsterdam-based firm announced its purchase of London-based Wells Fargo Trust Corporation to gain its aviation portfolio based on rapid incomes rises and appetite for travel in Asia.
