International Trust, Corporate Services Provider Creates Global Deputy CFO Role

In his newly created role, Vaz will be based in the Isle of Man.
Equiom, an
international trust and corporate services provider, has
appointed Derek Vaz as its deputy global chief financial
officer.
Vaz has more than 20 years' experience in the financial services
industry and has held numerous senior roles at Lloyds Banking
Group and KPMG.
He spent a nine-year stint working in the international division
of Lloyds Banking Group, carrying out roles that included CFO for
its Middle East and European corporate bank. He also played a key
role in establishing the European corporate bank after the merger
between Lloyds Banking Group and HBOS was completed, Equiom said
in a statement.
While at KPMG, Vaz worked with financial services institutions on
their integration and divestment programmes. He designed and
managed programme infrastructure for clients and supported
the business to ensure deadlines were met.
In his new role, Vaz will work with Equiom's global CFO, Jeremy
Evans, and the firm's global leadership team to develop its
ongoing financial strategy.
“With his extensive experience in the financial sector and truly
global background, he will be a valuable asset to the company,”
said Evans.
Equiom has offices in the British Virgin Islands, Guernsey,
Hong Kong, the Isle of Man, Jersey, Malta, the State of Qatar,
Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.
