International Law Firm Names Former Mourant Luminary As Partner, Trust Head

Withers, the international law group, is making Ziva Robertson a partner in its Contentious Trusts and Succession Group.

"Trust litigation is on the rise globally and we are seeing an increasing demand for advice on complex cross-border disputes, often involving offshore jurisdictions. Ziva's international reputation and experience, added to her network of contacts and linguistic skills, will play a valuable role in building our market-leading practice further," said Withers’ managing partner, Margaret Robertson.

Ms Robertson joins the firm from Mourant’s London office, where she was also a partner as well as head of the firm's Cayman trust litigation practice. Prior to joining Mourant in 2006, she was head of trust litigation at Maples & Calder in the Cayman Islands. She also previously headed Charles Russell's trust litigation practice between 2000 and 2004.

Ms Robertson is an experienced international trust litigator, admitted in both the United Kingdom and the Cayman Islands. She specialises in complex, cross-jurisdictional trust disputes - both onshore and offshore.

Withers has 113 partners and around 700 people on-staff, dedicated to the commercial and tax law, trusts, estate planning, litigation, charities, employment, family law and other legal issues facing high net worth individuals, their families, businesses and advisors globally.

The group comprises Withers in the UK and Europe, Withers Bergman in the United States and Withers in Hong Kong. Its worldwide office network spans London, New York, New Haven and Greenwich (Connecticut), Geneva, Milan and Hong Kong.

The firm says the group's international client base includes around a quarter of Britain's most affluent citizens (based on the Sunday Times Rich List), and a significant number of the Forbes 400 list of Richest Americans.
