Insynergy Appoints Chief Operating Officer

Insynergy Investment Management, the recently launched London boutique firm, has appointed Steve Wisson as chief operating officer.

In his new role Mr Wisson will assume responsibility for finance, operations, compliance and risk management, and will report to Insynergy’s chief executive and founder Spike Hughes.

Prior to joining Insynergy, Mr Wisson ran his own consultancy company, providing operations expertise to investment management companies.  He has also previously held the role of chief operating officer for UKMEA at State Street Investor Services, along with that of global head of operations at AXA Investment Managers.

Mr Hughes said: “Steve will have a significant role in the day-to-day management of the business and shares our corporate vision.  I believe Steve will prove to be an invaluable asset as we look to establish our brand presence and deliver our ambitious growth plans.  It is our intention to build a team of 12-15 staff in the first year…and to launch around three new specialist funds per annum.”

Insynergy launched its first two funds to the UK retail funds marketplace in October, one of which is managed by Crispin Odey of Odey Asset Management.  In addition to the Odey Growth fund, the firm offers a Shariah-compliant investment vehicle managed by Ian Lancaster of Gulf Finance House.

The administrative operations of Insynergy have been outsourced to IFDS and State Street, and the firm has also secured AXA UK as a distribution partner.

Mr Hughes was a founding member of Skandia Investment Management and previously held senior positions with Hargreaves Lansdown, Winterthur and Scottish Widows.  Subject to regulatory approval, Insynergy’s chairman is to be James Caan, entrepreneur and star of the BBC television series Dragons’ Den.
