Indian Bank Opens Representative Office In Abu Dhabi

HDFC Bank has opened a representative office in Abu Dhabi to serve the Emirate's non-resident Indian population, its second representative office in the UAE.

The new office will provide services such as help in opening non-resident external accounts in India, remittance services, fixed deposits in India and other related banking services for NRIs in Abu Dhabi.

The bank’s other UAE-based office is a wholesale offshore branch in Bahrain, which provides corporate, trade finance and advisory services to both corporates and ultra high net worth individuals.

The bank has said it intends to continue to expand its offshore operations to meet the needs of the UAE’s NRI population.

In other recent developments, at the end of last month HDFC Bank announced that it had partnered with Diners Club International to launch an exclusive range of credit cards for its most valued clients. The HDFC Bank Diner Club International Credit Cards are offered in three variants: the HDFC Bank Diner Club Black, HDFC Bank Diner Club Premium and HDFC Bank Diners Club Rewardz. The Black card has the highest distinction among the three.
