Indian Bank Opens 24-Hour Premium Branch For HNWIs

State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, the Indian bank, has opened a new 24-hour banking centre for its high net worth clients in Jaipur.

The Kohinoor Royale Banking Centre is open 24 hours a day but only to clients who have been invited to access it. The premium branch features a Deewan-e-Khas, or a plush lounge, a locker facility, a Shringar, or a dressing room, and a Darbar, or a conference room equipped with video-conferencing technology. The branch is designed to woo the state's high net worth individuals who seek a banking experience with a "five-star ambience."

According to latest figures from Reportlinker, India has the fourth-largest number of high net worth indivdiuals in the Asia-Pacific region, with over 250,000 cumulatively owning at least $1 trillion in assets in 2011.

The opening follows a positive first quarter for State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur which saw a 32 per cent increase in net profit to Rs248 crore ($46 million) in the three months to March 2012. The rise was attributed to strong growth in credit and net interest income. To date, the bank records Rs2,567 crore in total restructured assets.
