India-Focused Equity Fund Names New Head

SONG Investment Company, the Mauritius-based equity fund, has appointed a new manager for its existing investment portfolio in India.

Kartik Srivatsa, head of Aspada Capital Advisors, will assume the management of SONG's current portfolio, replacing Vishal Vasishth who has held the role since the company's establishment in 2008. Vasisth is known for spearheading investments in four portfolio companies and leading SONG's exit from K12 Techno Services, an end-to-end school management firm. It is not known where Vasisth is moving.

SONG Investment Advisors was created by the Soros Economic Development Fund, Omidyar Network and Google, in partnership with the Indian School of Business, to provide early and growth stage capital to small and medium enterprises in various local sectors with the goal of promoting economic opportunity and sustainable social impact. To-date, the fund is worth $17 million.
