ASK Group, the India-based financial services group, has appointed a former Barclays wealth management senior figure as its chief operating officer of its ASK Wealth Advisors Pvt business.

ASK Group, the India-based financial services group, has appointed a former Barclays wealth management senior figure as its chief operating officer of its ASK Wealth Advisors Pvt business.

The firm has appointed Deepak Rattan to the COO slot; he has almost 20 years of experience in the financial services sector, mainly in the investment advisory, management, consulting and syndication areas.

Before he joined ASK Group, he worked at Barclays Wealth & Investment Management, where he was designated director and team leader in India. He had been a board member at Barclays Securities, meanwhile, for more than four years.

Prior to Barclays, Rattan was head for the western region and head of NRI services for ABN AMRO Bank in India, joining the Dutch bank in 2002 at the time of inception of private banking by that firm. He worked in a leadership role at ABN AMRO for nearly six years.

It has been reported, meanwhile, that a Ms Leena Wakankar has been also appointed by ASK Group, a head of human resources, ASK Group.
