India Asset Management JV for US Pru

US-based Prudential Financial has signed an agreement with major Indian real estate developer, DLF, to form an asset management joint venture, to be known as DLF Pramerica Asset Managers. The joint venture, to be based in Mumbai, will offer a broad array of mutual fund and investment products. It marks Prudential Financial's entry to the Indian mutual fund market. "We have applied for permission and financial details will be disclosed only upon approval," Rajiv Talwar DLF group executive director told Thomson Financial News. Prudential Financial will hold 61 per cent in the joint venture with DLF holding the remaining 39 per cent, said DLF in a filing to the Mumbai Stock Exchange.
