HSBC Private Bank Appoints Senior Bankers For Global India, Singapore

The private banking arm of the group has made a number of top-level appointments in its Global India, Singapore and offshore China businesses.
HSBC has announced a
number of moves in its private banking business across the Middle
East, the “global India” business and China.
Vivek Pandohi has been appointed head of Middle East for Global
India, while Harjeet Singh is joining as senior desk head
for Global India in Singapore, the bank said in a statement. Both
report to Gautam Anand, who was named head of Global India
earlier this year.
Lay Hong Tan and Jay See are joining as desk heads for the
Singapore market and offshore China market respectively.
Global India is structured as an international franchise spanning
India and wealth hubs including Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore and
the UK.
Pandohi, who has more than 23 years’ experience with HSBC across
Asia and the Middle East, has spent the past decade in
senior leadership roles at HSBC Private Bank in the UAE, most
recently leading the UAE Global India and Expat business. In
his new role he will be expanding coverage across the Gulf
Cooperation Council (GCC), the bank said.
Previously, Singh spent more than nine years at Bank of
Singapore, where he was most recently managing director and
market head leading the Global South Asia business.
Tan, who has more than 30 years’ experience in financial services
including 15 in private banking, was previously market team head
at UBS Singapore. She will lead a Singapore domestic coverage
team serving Singapore ultra-high net worth and high net worth
families as well as Mandarin-speaking clients.
See, who has 18 years of private banking experience serving
Chinese clients in Singapore, was most recently a China coverage
specialist at Credit Suisse and UBS. He will lead the offshore
China market desk in Singapore.
