HSBC Private Bank Appoints Global Investment Group Co-Heads

HSBC Private Bank has appointed new co-heads for its global investment group, with one of them based out of Hong Kong and the other head working from London, HSBC confirmed to this publication.

HSBC Private Bank has appointed new co-heads for its global investment group, with one of them based out of Hong Kong and the other head working from London, HSBC confirmed to this publication, following an earlier media report.

The appointments are managing directors Olivier Pacton in Hong Kong and Jean-Christophe Gerard in Geneva, who moves to London. Pacton was previously Asia-Pacific head of the investment group, while Gerard held the same remit for Europe, HSBC confirmed.

The appointments come in the wake of the retirement of Nigel Webber at the end of 2013; he had been the private bank’s chief investment officer, based in London – he had also had a stint in Hong Kong.

The story came as the private bank announced quarterly and full-year results for 2013 yesterday.
