HSBC GAM Appoints Lead Portfolio Manager For Frontier Markets

The investment management arm of HSBC has handed the role to a Middle East specialist.
HSBC Global Asset Management has appointed Ramzi Sidani as senior portfolio manager and lead portfolio manager of its frontier markets equity strategy.
Sidani joins the London team from SHUAA Asset Management in Dubai, where he managed the firm’s flagship frontier, Middle East and North Africa capabilities. Previously, he was part of the acquisitions team at Dubai Group.
He succeeds Andrew Brudenell, who joined UK investment house Ashmore late last year.
“We believe that our robust team-based approach to managing money really delivers for our clients over the long term,” said HSBC GAM's head of equities, Nick Timberlake.
“Ramzi’s proven track record of managing emerging markets money from the Middle East brings a valuable combination of culture and experience which will help deliver further investment performance for our clients.”
As at the end of March 2016, HSBC GAM managed assets of $429 billion on behalf of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions.
