HSBC Builds China "Corridor" Proposition

The appointments are designed to work on a particular group of Chinese business figures who are expanding into Singapore and the surrounding marketplace.
HSBC in Singapore has
appointed two figures to strengthen its “China corridor
proposition,” working with Chinese businesses and entrepreneurs
as they expand into Singapore and across Southeast Asia.
The bank has appointed Ying Wang (pictured below) as distribution
head for International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) and
named Irene Zeng (pictured below) as managing director and
business development head, China Corridor in its Corporate and
Institutional Banking (CIB) division.

“As the region’s leading trade and business hub, Singapore is
uniquely positioned to support Chinese companies as they expand
into ASEAN. Irene and Ying bring deep expertise in developing the
China corridor, strengthening our ability to serve this
fast-growing client segment and connect them to new engines of
growth across the region,” Wong Kee Joo, CEO, HSBC Singapore said
in a statement.
This news service has reflected on the use of the
term "corridor" to
describe the linkages that banks, and their various hubs, have
with particular types of client.
