Both of the new senior hires previously worked at Citi Private Bank.

The private banking arm of HSBC has made two senior appointments from Citi Private Bank, covering the areas of ultra-high net worth and family office clients, it announced yesterday. 

Hannes Hofmann (pictured below) will join as global head of family offices in a newly-created role, based in London. He will be responsible for overseeing HSBCs global family office proposition.

Hofmann has more than 25 years’ experience in global private banking. He was most recently global head of family office group at Citi Private Bank, a move that reunited him with Ida Liu, CEO of HSBC Private Bank and a former head of private banking at Citi. (Late last year, this news service reported her move here.) Before Citi, Hofmann worked at JP Morgan Private Bank for 20 years, with periods in New York, Hong Kong and London.

Cayman Wills (pictured below) will join HSBC Private Bank as head of the US private banking business on 22 September. She will be based in New York.

Wills has over 20 years’ experience in global wealth management. At Citi Private Bank, she was head of the Northeast region, leading a large team of relationship managers and investment specialists serving HNW and UHNW clients. Before that, she worked at JP Morgan for 18 years in various leadership roles.

Both of the new hires report to Liu (pictured below). Wills also has an entity reporting line to Racquel Oden, head of international wealth and premier banking and private banking in the US.
