Hong Kong Asset Manager Appoints New Head

Hong Kong-based Quam Asset Management has announced that Richard Harris will take over at the helm of the company as of this month.

Harris, a Hong Kong resident, brings 32 years of industry experience to the firm, specialising in investment management in Asia, Europe and low-taxation jurisdictions. He joins from Port Shelter, a consulting firm he founded to assist family offices with their investment decisions. Prior to that, he served as chief executive of Jardine Fleming's private bank and as director for Citi Private Bank in Asia, among other positions.

"We feel that it is time for a new-era of asset management, where clients demand more transparency, smarter diversification and better value. Ultimately clients require a diversified investment plan that looks at a variety of investment instruments with responsible return-risk profiles," Harris said in a statement.

Quam Asset Management is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Quam, a financial services group that includes securities, wealth management and private equity among its services. It has several representative branches in China and has partner networks in Japan, Thailand, Dubai, the US, Vietnam and Africa.
