Hoare & Co, the UK’s oldest private bank, which is approaching its 333 birthday, has just announced that it has replaced all its legacy systems. The bank has converted all its sterling banking systems onto Activebank, banking software provided by Financial Objects, a UK-based financial software firm. “Three years ago we replaced our investment management systems,” Alexander Hoare, chief executive of Hoare & Co, told Wealthbriefing. “Eighteen months ago we converted our currency banking onto ActiveBank, and now we have converted all sterling banking systems onto Activebank.” He added: “The oldest private bank in the country now has no legacy systems. There is still one hand-written ledger, but sadly its days are also numbered!”
