HNW Pros To Fare Best On Pay Says Consultant

More good news for wealth management professionals on the pay front. New York-based compensation consulting firm Johnson Associates is predicting that high net worth pros are among financial executives who will receive the fattest paychecks this year.

HNW, asset management and alternative investments professionals are expected to receive the largest increases – up to 15 per cent – this year, according to Johnson. Last year, they were among the hardest hit.

Fixed income and equities traders at investment and commercial banks, who last year received pay that increased by more than 40 per cent, will be the hardest hit this year, Johnson said. Their year-end incentives will decline by 20 per cent or more.

The 10-15 per cent increase for HNW pros has held steady from what Johnson predicted in August and is in line with a recent Russell Reynolds Associates study. Russell also expects compensation in the wealth management industry to rise by up to 10-15 per cent this year.
