Private banks, investment managers, accounting firms, law firms and insurance carriers frequently call on IPG to help their clients maximize wealth, generate liquidity, meet personal liabilities, plan for future business continuity and provide for other wealth and security matters.
Fischel-Bock, who joined IPG late last year, will work closely IPG's Latin America regional director Mary Olivia to attract this kind of business in Central and South America. Both executives will report directly to Baker.
Miami-based Fischel-Bock came to Bank of America through its 2007 acquisition of U.S. Trust, which he joined in 2005 from Citigroup. Before he left Bank of America at the end June 2008, he was in charge of the "Specialized Client Solutions" group within its U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management unit -- in effect, its multifamily office along with CTC Consulting, a Tacoma, Wash.-based private-client investment advisory that U.S. Trust acquired in the early 1990s.
Fischel-Bock held of senior relationship-management and executive positions before he worked at Citi including Dresdner Bank and JPMorgan Private Bank (now part of JPMorgan Chase).
Bessemer Trust just hired ex-Citi wealth manager Maria Tyler as a senior client-account manager in its Miami office to help the multifamily office serve a recent influx of new Latin American clients.
IPG has also appointed Karina Cuba as assistant v.p. of operations and client service in its Miami office. Before joining in IPG, Cuba was a Mary Kay beauty consultant and franchise owner. -FWR
