Hedge Funds Chief Resigns From Swiss Asset Manager - Report

Swiss asset manager Unigestion has confirmed that Konstantinos Iordanidis, the head of its hedge fund division, has left the firm after five months in the role.

Mr Iordanidis’ departure was the result of “differences of management style”, a spokesperson told WealthBriefing.

Mr Iordanidis was appointed as managing director and head of hedge funds in September 2008, joining Unigestion from Olympia Capital Management in Paris, where he had been co-chief investment officer since 2005.

As head of Unigestion’s hedge fund division, Mr Iordanidis’ role focused on leading the development of the firm’s fund of hedge funds business. Based in Geneva, he oversaw a team a team of 43 investment professionals working across six international offices.

At the time of his hire, Unigestion said that Mr Iordanidis’ appointment would allow chairman Bernard Sabrier and chief executive Patrick Fenal to devote more time to the overall management of the group and its strategic direction over the next decade.

Mr Fenal has now resumed his role of overseeing Unigestion's fund of hedge fund management, the firm said.

Unigestion has 153 employees and is based in Geneva, with additional offices in London, New York, Paris, Singapore and Guernsey.  The firm currently manages assets totalling $9.5 billion, of which 85 per cent is managed for institutional investors and 15 per cent for high net worth families.
