According to figures published this week in the Hedge Fund Compensation Report, a US publication, analysts and portfolio managers in US hedge funds with five to nine years experience saw their bonuses jump 35 per cent in 2004 to an average $287,000. Bonuses for traders who have been working for 10 years or more jumped 38 percent to $433,000. The report, which analyzed pay packages of more than 650 people who work at hedge funds, was compiled by recruitment firm Glocap Search LLC, Institutional Investor News and research group Lipper.
