Schroders has
appointed Matt Hudson to manage the Schroder UK Opportunities
fund, replacing Julie Dean, who has left the company.
Hudson will take on full fund management responsibility for the
fund with immediate effect, as well as the Luxembourg-domiciled
Schroder ISF UK Opportunities fund. Schroders said in a statement
that the investment objectives of the funds will not change.
Dean also managed the Schroder UK Growth Investment trust, which
will be managed by the business cycle investment team.
The board will consult with its independent advisors and
shareholders in relation to future investment management
arrangements and a further announcement will be made in due
course.
“The business cycle approach is a key investment strategy for us
which is why we have appointed Matt Hudson, whose track record is
excellent, to manage these funds,” said Robin Stoakley,
head of UK intermediary.
Dean joined Schroders following the takeover of Cazenove Capital
last July.
According to FE Trustnet, the Opportunities fund has lost 0.7 per
cent in the last year, compared to an average return of 8.7 per
cent from the UK All Companies sector, while the Growth
Investment trust is down 1.4 per cent, compared to the All
