Gradual Change At The Top Of Venerable German Private Bank

Friedrich von Metzler intends to transfer the leadership of German private bank B Metzler Seel Sohn & Co to Emmerich Mueller, according to Financial Times Deutschland, which quoted the bankers.

All the Frankfurt-based bank’s divisions performed better last year than in 2010, the newspaper said according to Mueller, the only owner of the bank with personal liability apart from von Metzler.

While there may be a period where no member of the von Metzler family is among the bank’s partners, Leonhard von Metzler, 36, may be accepted as one in the future, the paper said according to an emailed summary seen by Bloomberg.

The Frankfurt-headquartered bank, which traces its origins to 1674, is a global business with offices, for example, in China.
