Goldman Sachs has opened an office in Monaco, according to sources close to the bank. The new office is expected to target private client business, say sources. Monaco has thrived in recent years as a private client centre, with considerable levels of European and Middle East wealth finding its way into the principality’s private banks. Groups like HSBC Private Bank have done particularly well in attracting private client assets. Goldman Sachs was not willing yesterday to comment to WealthBriefing on the move.
