Goldman Sachs CIO Departs

Goldman Sachs Asset Management will see the departure of Eileen Rominger, who latterly served as chief investment officer for portfolio management businesses within the firm’s fund division, after an eleven-year tenure, according to several media reports.

Rominger was previously responsible for fixed income, fundamental equity and quantitative investment strategies within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. She is due to step down at the end of the year and she will not be replaced, according to reports.

The news follows the recent appointment of Jim O’Neill, previously the firm’s London-based chief economist, as chairman of Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management manages $802 billion in assets as of the end of June.
