Goldman Sachs has been given a ringing endorsement of its UK private wealth management offering with a major hire from Coutts. Kevin Shone, who was a principal client partner at Coutts’ Manchester office and one of the firm’s biggest producers, left the bank several weeks ago. He will be joining Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management at the end of the summer as a managing director, WealthBriefing has learnt. Mr Shone will be based in London and will report into the senior management team at Goldman Sachs PWM. The hire is seen by analysts as a significant one for Goldman Sachs as the US-based bank builds up its wealth management presence in the UK.
