Global Asset Manager Hires Chief Risk Officer

The new hire will join the firm on July 2.
Global asset management Janus
Henderson Investors has appointed Georgina Fogo to
its executive committee as chief risk officer.
Currently global head of compliance at Blackrock, Fogo will
join Janus Henderson on July 2. She will be responsible for the
oversight and development of Janus Henderson’s risk and
compliance functions globally.
Fogo will be based in the firm’s London headquarters. Her
appointment follows the retirement of David Kowalski as CRO in
2017.
She has more than 15 years of experience in asset management and
compliance. Prior to being appointed as the global head of
compliance at BlackRock, Fogo was the Europe, Middle
East and Africa head of compliance at BlackRock.
“Georgina brings strong risk management credentials and an
impressive track record in building and overseeing global risk
and compliance platforms," said co-chief executives, Dick
Weil and Andrew Formica. “With the regulatory landscape for asset
managers and clients becoming increasingly complex, her
experience will be invaluable in ensuring Janus Henderson remains
at the forefront of the change agenda and risk management best
practice.”
In February, this publication reported
that Janus Henderson saw its total revenues jump 10 per cent in
the fourth quarter, driven by performance fees and higher average
assets under management.
