Glenmede hires director for alternative strategies

Trippe's appointment frees Mancuso to zero in on firm's small-cap program. Multifamily office Glenmede Trust has put former AXA Financial asset manager Kenneth Trippe in charge of its alternative-investment programs. He replaces Robert Mancuso who now is now free to concentrate on Glenmede's small-cap equity strategy, for which he has been lead manager for the past 14 years.

Experience

Trippe oversees Glenmede's alternative investment platform, which includes the firm's private-equity, real-estate and hedge-fund strategies.

He reports to Glenmede's CIO Gordon Fowler.

"Ken's more than two decades in financial services has provided him with a high level of experience evaluating private investments," says Fowler. "Under his leadership, Glenmede will broaden its ability to enhance client portfolios with alternative strategies."

At AXA Trippe supervised the private-equity program of the New York-based insurance company's Equitable Life unit.

Glenmede supervises more than $20 billion in private and institutional assets. In addition to its headquarters in Philadelphia, it has offices in Princeton, N.J., Morristown, N.J, Wilmington, Del., and Beachwood, Ohio. -FWR
