Elian, a specialist in corporate, fund, private wealth and capital services, has appointed former Deloitte global chairman and global managing partner John Connolly as its new chairman. The move comes, Elian says, as it builds on its recent management buyout.

Connolly has had a 44-year career in professional services. Since retiring from Deloitte in 2011, he has been appointed chairman at FTSE 100 companies G4S and Amec Foster Wheeler, Elian said in a statement.

’’Elian is incredibly well positioned for rapid growth, as a result of the company's recent management buyout of Ogier Fiduciary Services and the subsequent launch of their new brand,” Connolly said.

Connolly is also a special trustee of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, a member of the board of governors of the London Business School and sits on the president's committee of the Confederation of British Industry.

The group employs 500 people across 10 offices; it launched as Ogier Fiduciary Services in 1999.
