French Investment Firm Hires For Benelux Push

French investment firm Carmignac Gestion has appointed Mischa Cornet as head of development for professional clients in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
The appointment sees Mr Cornet make a return to Carmignac Gestion, where he had been sales director for Germany between 2004 and 2006.
In his new role, Mr Cornet’s remit is to develop the company’s presence among professional clients in the Benelux countries and he reports to Patrick Giry, managing director of Carmignac Gestion Luxembourg.
Mr Cornet’s team includes Herwig Bogaerts, who has been named head of country for professional clients in Belgium; Menno De Vreeze, sales manager for the Netherlands, and Christophe Palumbo, client relationship manager Benelux.
Mr Cornet was most recently distribution director for Benelux, the Nordic countries and the Baltic states at Credit Suisse Asset Management, having previously been marketing director for Luxembourg and Belgium with Schroder Investment Management.
Founded in 1989, Carmignac Gestion currently manages €22 million ($31.2 billion). Its funds are marketed in France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands.
The company has had a subsidiary in Luxembourg since 1999, and opened two representative offices in Madrid and Milan in 2008.
