French Asset Manager Bolsters Alternatives Team In London

French asset management big-hitter Amundi has named a head of equity strategies for its alternative investment arm.

French asset manager Amundi has appointed Jeannine Daniel as head of equity strategies at its London-based alternative investments arm.

Daniel has 10 years' experience in the hedge fund space and has built up relationships with a range of equity-focused funds, the firm said. In her new role, she will be in charge of sourcing, selecting and monitoring hedge fund managers for event-driven and other equity strategies.

She will report to François-Regis Bocqueraz, global head of hedge fund manager relations and selection.

The group's recent appointments include two hires to its emerging market debt department last month.

Amundi Alternative Investments manages over $10 billion in assets and is the seventh largest managed accounts provider worldwide. It was formed from a joint venture by Societe Generale and Credit Agricole in 2009.
