Fox Rothschild acquires third law firm this year

Business-owner law firm adds three-lawyer practice Binder, Kalis & Proctor. Law firm Fox Rothschild has acquired Pottstown, Pa.-based law Binder, Kalis & Proctor in a bid to strengthen its presence in Pennsylvania's Montgomery and Chester counties, which are parts of the metropolitan Philadelphia area.

"Binder is the oldest, continuously existing law firm in the area, and [it brings] strong experience to the firm," says Fox Rothschild's COO Mark Silow. By making it part of Fox Rothschild "we not only expand our talent pool, but add to our ability to provide a wider variety of services to our clients in Montgomery and Chester counties," he adds.
All three of Binder, Kalis & Proctor's attorneys have joined Fox Rothschild. Howard Kalis III, a now a partner with Fox Rothschild, is aboard as a tax and estates lawyer. Stephen Kalis, another new partner, joins Fox Rothschild's real-estate practice, as does special counsel Steven Proctor.
Fox Rothschild acquired Roseland, N.J.-based tax- and estate-law firm Goldman & Kramer last month. In January 2007 acquired New York-based Young Moriwaki & Greenfader, which does a lot of work with artists and entertainers.
Philadelphia-based Fox Rothschild has more than a dozen offices in the U.S. The firm specializes in serving the leagls needs of business owners. -FWR
