Former Santander Face Moves Over To State Street

The firm's latest hire previously worked for Spain's largest lender, Santander, in the US.

State Street has named Melissa Ballenger chief financial officer for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

In this role, she will oversee finance, treasury, real estate and procurement for EMEA, in addition to all financial management and control functions for business lines and legal entities in the region.

Based in London, she will report to Eric Aboaf, global CFO of State Street, as well as Jeff Conway, chief executive of State Street's EMEA operation.

Prior to joining State Street, Ballenger was chief business control officer at Santander Bank in the US. She also held the role of CFO there.

Prior to that, she held executive level financial controller and financial officer positions at TD Bank, MasterCard, Washington Mutual Bank and Freddie Mac.

“Melissa’s deep experience will further strengthen our offerings as we continue to grow our presence and deepen relationships with clients,” said Conway.
