Former HSBC Duo Set Up Jersey Investment Boutique

Jersey-based former HSBC Investments managers Darren Zaman and Simon Beal have set up DPZ Capital to offer investment management and advisory services to private clients, trustees, family offices, charities and institutions. DPZ Capital, which was licensed by the Jersey Financial Services Commission to conduct investment business in November, aims to produce risk adjusted returns via actively managed multi-asset class portfolios with an emphasis on capital preservation. Mr Zaman was previously managing director at Le Masurier James & Chinn, Jersey's oldest stockbroker, which was acquired by the HSBC Group in 2004 when it merged with Bank of Bermuda. Most recently he was managing director of the international investment management business of HSBC Investments, with responsibility for teams based in Jersey and London and a globally diverse client base. Mr Beal joined Le Masurier James & Chinn in 2003 from Newton International Investment Management, where he was responsible for the private client investments team. From 2004, he was a fund manager at HSBC Investments.
