DW Investment Management, a US asset manager specialising in credit with more than $5 billion in assets under management, has appointed former Goldman Sachs managing director Jennifer Drake as head of business development.

The firm, founded by David Warren and partners as a 2009 spin-out from Brevan Howard, manages two Brevan Howard credit hedge funds: the Brevan Howard Credit Catalysts Fund and the Brevan Howard Credit Value Fund.

Drake will make use of her experience in proprietary trading of credit and derivative instruments, as well as research, asset allocation and portfolio management experience with global alternative investment organizations, to communicate with prospective and current investors in funds DWIM manages, and to broaden business development efforts. She will also join DWIM’s executive committee and risk committee.

At Goldman Sachs, Drake concentrated on credit, event driven and relative value investments and was a member of the Liquid Markets Investment Committee for the $120 billion alternative investments and manager selection group. Earlier in her career, she oversaw similar investments for GAM, the Swiss-listed firm, and was head analyst and portfolio manager for Nomura Securities’ proprietary convertible bond portfolios in New York. Drake started her career at Goldman Sachs in mergers and acquisitions.
