Former Deutsche Director Creates Texas Advisory Firm

A Texas-based wealth management firm has launched as an independent firm through Dynasty Financial Partners.

Houston, Texas-based Fortiter Wealth Management has launched as an independent firm through Dynasty Financial Partners.

L Vincent Elliott, managing director of Fortiter Wealth Management, created the firm after leaving Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management, where he was a director for the past ten years. He has also previously worked within the private client group of Bernstein Investment Research & Management as a founding member of the Houston office.

Other team members include Carey Cooney, director of client services; Shannon McCue, director of operations; and Harris Britt, analyst. They all previously worked at Deutsche Bank, except Britt who was studying.

Fortiter Wealth Management chose Fidelity Investments to provide primary custody services for clients.

In November, Dynasty said it has added seven new clients to its platform this year, growing to 24 firms as it headed towards its fourth birthday. In particular, Shirl Penney, president and chief executive of the firm, has observed increased activity in the independent space in the Southwest region. “This is the third team from Texas joining the Dynasty Network,” he said.
