Former Credit Suisse (Schweiz) Chairman Joins Lombard Odier

A prominent figure in the Swiss banking sector becomes a partner of the Geneva-based banking group.
Lombard Odier
has appointed Alexandre Zeller to join its partnership, taking
effect from the start of March.
A member of Credit Suisse’s board and chairman of Credit Suisse
(Schweiz) since 2016, Zeller has been a prominent figure in the
banking industry. Before joining Credit Suisse, Zeller was
chairman of the SIX Group from 2013 to 2016 and was, from 2008
until 2012, CEO of HSBC Private Bank for Switzerland, Europe and
the Middle East, based in Geneva. He was previously CEO of the
Banque Cantonale Vaudoise in Lausanne from 2002 to 2008,
following a career at Credit Suisse, where he was CEO of
Private Banking Switzerland.
The appointment puts Zeller alongside Patrick Odier (senior
managing partner), Christophe Hentsch, Hubert Keller, Frédéric
Rochat, Denis Pittet and Annika Falkengren.
At his new firm, Zeller will “assume the functional
responsibility for the technology and operations unit at group
level”. He will be based in Geneva.
“His [Zeller’s] strategic vision, operational expertise and
unparalleled network will be an additional asset to strengthen
our client service offering and to pursue our growth both in
Switzerland and abroad,” Patrick Odier, senior managing partner,
said.
Zeller has been involved with Lombard Odier before - highlighting
the close links of many executives with other banks. He was a
member of the board of directors of the Bank Lombard Odier in
Switzerland from 2014 to 2016.
