Former Coutts Intermediaries' Head Joins Deutsche WM

The Frankfurt-listed bank's wealth arm has brought over a former senior Coutts manager to be its UK head of intermediaries and multi-family offices.
Deutsche
Bank Wealth Management has appointed former Coutts senior manager appointed
Matthew Spencer as a managing director and UK head of
intermediaries and multi-family offices, part of expansion that
started with the appointment of Michael Morley as CEO of the UK
business in July this year.
Spencer will join the wealth management arm of Deutsche Bank in
January 2018, based in London. He will sit on the UK leadership
council, reporting to Morley. He was most recently head of
business development at Coutts, from December 2014. He was
previously head of intermediaries’ management between 2007 and
2014 at Credit
Suisse in the UK and in Zurich. He is a member of the
Securities Institute and is a judge for
the WealthBriefing Swiss and European
Awards.
“We see the intermediary community as an important potential
engine for growth as we invest in our business in the UK.
Matthew’s long experience in building relationships with the
accountancy, legal, consultancy and family office sectors here
make him the ideal leader to promote Deutsche Bank Wealth
Management’s strong investment, lending and advice credentials,”
Michael Morley, Head of Deutsche Bank Wealth Management in the
UK, said.
