First Midwest chooses EDS Solcorp's ops technology

Independent broker-dealer cites Solcorp's rapid deployment, reasonable cost. First Midwest Securities has selects EDS Solcorp's WealthServ Investments to manage its front- and back-office operations. The point is to give First Midwest's affiliated brokers a consolidated view of their clients' holdings and a toolset for meeting compliance, commission and reporting requirements.

"WealthServ Investments provides us with a complete, web-based solution, able to deploy quickly and at a reasonable cost," says Terry Buffalo, president of Bloomington Ill.- based First Midwest.

Three to one

The brokerage will be consolidating data from three distinct systems with the WealthServ Investments platform.

WealthServ Investments is an EDS-hosted web application that lets "broker-dealers and their representatives to see the same information, consolidate financial information across investment, deposit and insurance lines, comply with regulatory requirements, manage compensation and create on-demand client statements and reports that enhance advisor professionalism," according to EDS Solcorp.

EDS Solcorp president Daniel Baron says his firm's "simple conversion process will enable them to realize tangible gains and competitive advantage within a short time frame."

Toronto, Canada-based EDS Solcorp is a unit of Plano, Texas-based Electronic Data Systems that provides software and consulting services to insurance companies and retail brokerages. -FWR
