Fidelity Poaches RLAM's Fund Manager

Global asset manager Fidelity Worldwide Investment has added Sajiv Vaid to its fixed income team.

Fidelity Worldwide Investment has hired Royal London Asset Management's fund manager Sajiv Vaid.

Vaid will join in August from his position as senior fixed income fund manager and co- and lead manager of RLAM's three corporate bond funds, which collectively have over £2 billion ($3 billion) in assets.

With his 20 years of industry experience, he will join Fidelity's fixed income team. The team manages around £49.6 billion of the £175.9 billion that the company manages or administers worldwide.

Vaid will manage the UK corporate bond fund, Fidelity MoneyBuilder Income, and the Fidelity Extra Income fund. He will work alongside Ian Spreadbury, who will remain lead manager across both funds.

“Our fixed income team and franchise continues to go from strength to strength in terms of both performance and capability,” said Andrew Wells, global chief investment officer, fixed income, solutions and real estate at Fidelity Worldwide Investment.

“The arrival of someone of Saj’s calibre is testament to this and a clear signal of how we will continue to develop our fixed income business by developing our own talent, and hiring the best from the market at the same time.”
