FCA appoints new head of supervision

The UK' Financial Conduct Authority has appointed Megan Butler permanently to the job of "director of supervision – investment, wholesale and specialists."

Butler has been doing the job on secondment from the Prudential Regulation Authority, where she was executive director of the International Banks Directorate, for nine months. The FCA seem very pleased that she decided to stay in her adopted home. She joined the Bank of England in April 2013, moving from the old Financial Services Authority. She had been a supervisor since 2008, when she became head of the department responsible for the supervision of the British operations of the world's major investment banks.
