Family Offices Say Rates, Bond Yields Greatest Growth Risk – Deutsche Bank

The German bank polled family offices and HNW people in the Asian city-state earlier in October about what they consider are the main threats to economic growth. Among the findings was that Asia is the most stable region in investment and financial terms.
A recent conference involving around 200 family offices and
wealthy individuals in Singapore found that more than a third (37
per cent) saw interest rates and bond yields as the greatest risk
for economic growth.
The findings were taken at the Emerging Markets Family Office
Forum 2026 in Singapore, organised by Deutsche Bank.
A live poll of the audience by the German bank’s chief investment
officer Christian Nolting found that 23 per cent of those present
regarded inflation as the largest risk to economic growth; 17 per
cent cited AI. Only 5 per cent mentioned AI in the same event a
year before, Deutsche Bank said in its report about the
event.
In a sign of how the centre of economic growth is shifting, the
live poll showed that 73 per cent saw Asia as the most stable
geopolitical region for the next 12 months, followed by the US
(14 per cent), the UK/Europe (6 per cent), Latin America (4 per
cent) and the Middle East (2 per cent).
“International families and their family offices are seeking
stability, risk mitigation strategies and global connectivity,
and Singapore has emerged as one of the clear favourites as a
global wealth centre in this changing world,” the head of
emerging markets for the private banking business at Deutsche,
Marco Pagliara, said.
