Family Offices Become New Frontier For Savills

Savills has branched out from its renowned real estate business with the launch of a family office services practice, led by Rupert Phelps.

Savills has branched out from its renowned real estate business with the launch of a family office services practice, led by Rupert Phelps.

As well as its current transactional and consulting real estate offerings, Savills’ family office services practice will also provide guidance on family governance and dynamics, in addition to acting as a “hub” for families, whereby it can give objective advice on intermediary sectors.

“Savills is demonstrating its understanding and commitment to the family office sector, and the people it serves, by creating a collaborative offering which will enable them to source the quality service providers they need,” Phelps said in a statement.

Phelps moves from BNY Mellon, where he latterly served as director of family office services for seven years. He has also been a board member of a single family office, as well as global head of private banking & wealth management at Euromoney. At Savills, he will report to Clive Beer, head of Savills UK rural professional services and international mediation services.

Savills said the London-based practice will deepen its client relationships with both UK-based single family offices, as well as UK- and Europe-wide multi-family offices.

It will extend to its clients its knowledge of intermediary services and providers by drawing on its business expertise from across the firm, Beer said.
