Family Of IKEA Tycoon Tops The Rankings Of Switzerland's Richest 300 - Report

The family of Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of Swedish household goods empire Ikea who is giving up his official Swiss residence, nevertheless still comes top of a ranking of 300 richest individuals in Switzerland, according to Bilan magazine.

Kamprad is worth an estimated $45-46 billion, according to the publication.

All three sons of the Swedish tycoon hold Swiss citizenship, which is why the family remains on the ranking.

Heirs to the Hoffmann and Oeri families who founded the Roche pharmacautical empire rank second, with SFr22 million ($24.7 million) to SFr23 million, a gain of SFr6.0 million; third is Jorge Lemann, a Brazilian-Swiss businessman, with an estimated fortune of between SFr20 million and SFr21 million, the publication said.

In total, the 300 richest Swiss persons saw their wealth rise 12 per cent from 2012 to stand at SFr627 billion.
